Leslie Schomp received her MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and her BFA from Florida State University. She is a senior lecturer who primarily teaches drawing in the Visual Arts department. In 2017, she co-curated, with Roger Hankins and Maurice Geracht, an exhibition for the Cantor Gallery titled Robert Beauchamp: Four Decades of Drawing. Other curatorial work includes “The Beast and Me”. This exhibit was shown both at the Grimshaw Gudewicz Gallery in 2016 and the Maud Morgan Arts Center in 2019. Her work consists of drawings and sculptures created with textiles. She was a two-time finalist for the Massachusetts Cultural Council award in Drawing in 2008 and 2022. Her work was included in the recent Pyramyd publication, “De Fil en Aiguille”, by Charlotte Vannier, which showcased work by eighty two international contemporary artists who use embroidery in their art. Currently, Schomp is an Assistant Professor at the College of the Holy Cross.
